Troop 607 started in 1968, at the start of the new school year, meeting at Bryant Woods Elementary School in Columbia. John Laudadio was the second Scoutmaster. I think the 2nd SM was Mr. Mizell. Third SM maybe Mr. LaCourt (either he was SM or ASM)?
Then, we changed sponsors and had to get a new number, so we became Troop 696. Roy knows the whole story because he was a volunteer firefighter with our sponsoring fire departments.
Next Scoutmaster I can't think of his name. Frank "Marty" Martin knows. Marty was our first Eagle Scout and can tell you when the troop started.
Our last Scoutmaster was Mr. Thomas, my next door neighbor. Can't remember his first name. Maybe Ron.
We had four Eagles in this order:
Frank Marty Martin
John Martin (Marty's brother, deceased)
Neil Fagan (me)
Tosh Pott (later changed his name to Tosh Keune)
Tommy Bethards was with Troop 696 most of the way, then finished with Troop 615.
Two Patrols. Unsure of all the names. One Scout was Tommy Bethards. He got his Eagle with Troop 615 after the merger. I and two other former Troop 696 Scouts attended his Eagle Court of Honor at Running Brook Elementary School.
