The Friends of Boy Scout Troop 615, Inc was a non-profit organization based in Ellicott City, MD. It provided support and resources to Boy Scout Troop 615, fostering a community dedicated to youth development and outdoor education. Friends was formed March 14, 2012, with Michael Pretl as the Founder, and the first Board of Directors: Paul and Reed Uhlrich, Tommy and Susan DeWeese, Paul Gleichauf, and Resident Agent Yung Cho.
The Friends were founded to:
To provide local community support, financial assistance, adult leadership, supervision and consultation, all for the benefit of Boy Scout Troop 615 based in Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland.
To support and advocate for advancement of the scouting mission - to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, individualism, and self-reliance, through outdoor activities and educational programs, and to inculcate scouting values of trustworthiness, good citizenship and outdoor skills, contributing to the physical and moral growth, protection and ultimate benefit of the Troop's youth membership.
To facilitate collaboration between the adult leadership and the members of Boy Scout Troop 615, to assist the scouts and their leaders in developing and supporting programs of moral improvement and outdoor environmental education.
To ease the burdens of government by securing individual and corporate donations and foundation funding for the benefit of Scout Troop 615, and its programs of adolescent advancement.
The Friends hosted and participated in many Troop events and activities throughout its existence, including Bull Pork Roasts, Meat Sales
